Similar to most social media platforms, a story is a photo or a short video, often combined with a caption or an emoji. The goal here is to make it easy for employees to showcase their daily work and life in a company, so candidates get a more personal insight from the people that can best tell that story.


Candidates want the real story

Here at Teamtailor, we’re all about helping companies tell their story through engaging career sites. Putting this into practice however, requires teamwork and buy-in from everyone in the company, which is not always as easy as it sounds.

See it as someone recommending their friend to a company. If you’re that friend, you’re going to want to know all the fun things that make the company unique, which is most effectively shown through photos and videos. Remember that word of mouth is an incredible tool.

So what if all candidates could have a connection like that? And what if Content Managers could easily source company content from all employees and share them to highlight the best parts of the company culture? It's crucial to give candidates a true and accurate insight into what it’s really like working at your company.

Introducing: Team Stories

Ultimately, portraying your employer brand should be fun and easy. Team Stories is a simple way for employees to become company ambassadors by creating their own narratives and encouraging more interactions with candidates as a result. 

We mentioned earlier about your career site and using it in the right way. Keeping your career site fluid with nice content will give candidates an up-to-date perspective of your employer brand with full transparency. You can do this by adding a Team Stories block to various parts of your career site, such as your start page, department or location pages, or job ad templates. Blocks can be configured to only show Stories from a specific department or location.

The idea of content from individual departments is also worth highlighting. Encouraging your whole team to get familiar with Team Stories provides individual perspectives specific to each department. For example, your Sales team will be able to post about their daily work activities, specifically for the candidates that apply to your Sales roles. A day in Sales could throw up something completely different to a day in Marketing.

How do I post?

Employees will be able to view and create Team Stories through the existing mobile app. When creating a story, you can either take a photo by tapping the shutter button, or record a video by tapping and holding. When the shutter button is released, a preview will appear. You can go back to discard this and take a new one, or add an optional caption and post this to your feed.

We’ve also made it possible for users to react to Stories with an emoji or a comment. So if you like what you see, or just want to support what someone has posted, let them know!

The story is in your team

Some will say it’s cheesy, but the team is always stronger than the individual. Team Stories not only provides external exposure, but it’s a great internal tool for collaboration and bringing your teams closer. Whether it’s aligning your schedules in what and when to post, stay in the loop with other departments and coordinate your content.
