How Giacom reduce hiring time and improve ROI using Teamtailor

Meet Nicki Ablett

Nicki Ablett is an experienced Talent Acquisition Manager with a passion for creating exceptional candidate experiences and driving strategic hiring initiatives. With a strong background in recruitment operations and talent attraction, Nicki partners closely with business leaders to deliver data-driven hiring solutions. What were your hiring process and recruitment challenges prior to Teamtailor?

A slow and clunky recruiting process. Hiring managers were frustrated by the lack of transparency in the hiring process. We also had no assurance that data was kept safe. Reporting was also an issue.

What made you choose Teamtailor?

It's usability first and foremost. It's incredibly user friendly. The kanban style recruitment layout allows all users to see where candidates are in the process and this is all completely customisable. The fact that it also comes with its own careers site page which you have complete autonomy over is also a huge bonus for us. Cost was also a big factor and the ROI we have already seen on the price we have paid for the system has been great.

Which Teamtailor features and functionalities do you use the most?

Co-pilot screening criteria. This allows you to sift candidates really quickly allowing you to focus on other important recruitment tasks. The video recording feature with Co-pilot has also saved us valuable time when shortlisting making the hiring process even more transparent. I love how this also fills out your own internal screening questions for you, too!

What are some of the concrete ways Teamtailor has helped you?

Teamtailor are extremely responsive. When issues have arisen, the team are coming up with a resolution in minutes. They're also on hand to filter ideas to their product team so they can continually evolve the product. The amount of time we have saved by having Co-pilot integrated into the system has been difficult to quantify but roughly each screening call with a candidate would take 30 minutes, plus an additional 15 minutes to type up notes and submit to manager. Since using the Co-pilot add on, this has allowed us to focus purely on the candidate rather than frantically typing notes as they speak.

We've also recently implemented a brand new survey to gather interview feedback and whilst this is early days, the feedback we have received so far is much more quantitative than what we would receive through Glassdoor. It has also specifically allowed us to monitor and promote referrals, building our brand internally and encouraging people to refer other people they might know for our roles. We've had 70 referrals since we launched the Teamtailor platform in April 2024.

What would you say to other companies thinking about moving over to Teamtailor?

Communicate with Teamtailor as much as possible. They can't help unless they know what the problem is so always ensure you talk to them so they know how to help you. Make sure to educate yourself on the system inside and out so that when it comes to training your hiring managers, you're prepared for any questions. Use the onboarding guide that Teamtailor provide, this helped me so much when there's so much to action when implementing a new ATS. Create a working group so all the implementation tasks don't just sit with you. This way, your team and others that will use the system day to day, will also understand how it works and can support with any queries.
