The Salary field is now Compensation, giving you more flexibility to describe how a role is paid.
You can choose from the following compensation types:
- Salary (works just like the salary field you used before)
- Gross salary
- Net salary
- Contract rate
- Stipend
Already using Salary? Nothing changes. Salary is now one of the available compensation types, and your existing jobs and offers stay exactly as they are.
This gives you more flexibility when “salary” isn't the right fit — whether you're hiring a consultant on a contract rate, an intern receiving a stipend, or filling a role where the compensation terminology needs to be more precise.
Configure your compensation defaults
You can configure which compensation types are available, along with recurrence and currency options, at two levels:
Company settings: Choose which compensation types, recurrences, and currencies your team can use, and set your company-wide defaults.
Job offer templates: Set template-specific compensation defaults so that offers created from a template start with the right configuration for that type of role.
Compensation is supported across jobs, job offers, requisitions, and approval flows, so you can use your compensation settings throughout the hiring process.
